On April 1, 2019, representatives of the University attended the third bargaining session with the union committee that represents post-docs and ARSs.
The meeting began with the representatives of the University presenting and explaining counter-proposals to 8 of the union’s 14 initial proposals. With respect to the remainder, the University either expressed concerns, or indicated that it would have a specific response at a future meeting.
The union committee asked a number of questions and made a variety of comments concerning the University’s presentation, and then presented 8 new proposals. Following initial discussion of and questioning concerning these new, more detailed proposals, the University representatives stated that more time was needed for analysis, and that there would be further discussion and perhaps counter-proposals from the University at the next meeting, which is scheduled for April 15, 2019.
