Bargaining Session: April 15, 2019

On April 15, 2019 representatives of the University attended the fourth bargaining session with the union committee that represents post-docs and ARSs.

The meeting began with the union committee presenting counterproposals on Union-Management Committee, Employment Files, Training and Orientation, Vacation, and Holidays.  The union committee explained the modifications to each of the proposals and its concerns regarding the University’s proposals addressing the same matters.  The University then presented its proposals on Workspace and Materials, Leaves of Absence, Union Activity/Access, Work Schedule, Job Posting, and Appointments. The union committee asked questions and made comments about the University’s proposals, and the parties engaged in productive discussion.

The University then presented its counterproposals on Employment Files, Training and Orientation, and Joint Committee.  After initial discussion of these counterproposals, the parties agreed to further discussions at future bargaining sessions.

The next meeting is scheduled for April 22, 2019.
