The University recognizes the Columbia Postdoctoral Workers-United Automobile, Aerospace, and Agriculture Workers of America Union as the exclusive bargaining representative of Columbia’s employees who are appointed to the titles Associate Research Scientists/Scholars (“ARSs”), Postdoctoral Research Scientists/Scholars (“PDRSs”), and Postdoctoral Fellows (“PDFs”), as defined in the current Faculty Handbook. The parties agree to establish a committee to determine the extent to which the parties can engage in collective bargaining with respect to individuals appointed to the PDF title who receive all of their stipend or salary directly from an external agency.
